Mahavira
To start, let me first say that there is no known creator of the religion but there is a man responsible for the spread of one of the world’s largest religions and still growing. His name was Mahavira, who was said to be a spiritual genius and a talented religious teacher. What he did was to bring together in a systematic form the beliefs and philosophy of his predecessors, preach them widely throughout his home country, and lay the foundations of an organized Jain 'church' with monks and nuns and lay people following his teachings. This social order he created still continues today. He was born in Patna, Bihar (North Eastern India) in 599 B.C. and was known to end his life in 527 B.C. over 25000 years ago.
